Plans & Limits: Starter vs Pro

StoutStack keeps pricing simple: two plans, Starter and Pro, each available Monthly or Yearly. Every plan comes with the complete website builder and all the features that make your site look great and get found. The difference between the two comes down to how big your team is and how many kinds of content you want to manage. This article breaks down exactly what you get. Choosing or changing a plan is a Site Admin task, handled through the billing portal.

Monthly or yearly

Both plans can be billed monthly or yearly, and paying yearly saves you about 20% compared with paying month to month. If you know you're in it for the long haul, yearly is the better value.

Starter vs Pro at a glance

  Starter Pro
Price (monthly) $149/month $174/month
Price (billed yearly) $119/month $139/month
Websites 1 1
Editor seats 1 3
Content types 1 Unlimited
All core features Included Included

A quick word on "content types": beyond your regular pages and blog posts, StoutStack lets you create your own kinds of content: think a portfolio of projects, a menu, a team directory, a list of services, or properties for sale. Starter includes one of these custom content types; Pro gives you as many as you like.

What's included in both plans

Here's the important part: Starter and Pro share the same full feature set. Neither plan is a stripped-down version. Both include:

  • The full drag-and-drop visual builder and every section type
  • Drafts, live preview, and version history, so you can work safely and undo mistakes
  • Scheduling: set pages and posts to publish automatically at a future date and time
  • Saved sections: build a section once and reuse it across your site
  • A full blog with categories
  • Complete branding: your colors, header and footer styles, and custom fonts
  • Automatic SEO and sitemaps, so search engines can find your pages
  • Built-in analytics for activity on your site
  • On-site search, so visitors can find what they need
  • Forms and lead capture, plus newsletter signups
  • Fast hosting, a free, auto-renewing SSL certificate (the padlock in the address bar), and a custom domain

In short, Pro isn't about unlocking features. It's about room to grow: more people on your team and unlimited content types.

Your free StoutStack address

Every site also gets a free web address the moment you sign up, in the form <yourname>.mystoutstack.com, so you can go live right away. You can connect your own custom domain whenever you're ready. That's included on both plans.

Free trial and money-back guarantee

  • 7-day free trial. You'll enter a card to get started, but you won't be charged if you cancel within the first 7 days. If you keep going, your trial rolls smoothly into your paid plan when the 7 days are up.
  • 14-day money-back guarantee. Even after your first payment, if StoutStack isn't right for you, you're covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Cancelling

You can cancel anytime. There's no lock-in contract. When you cancel, your site stays live through the end of the period you've already paid for, so you get everything you paid for. (Cancelling is different from deleting your account, which removes your site and content immediately.)

Changing plans

You can move between Starter and Pro whenever you like, and your content is never affected by a plan change:

  • Upgrades take effect immediately. Move up to Pro and you get the extra seats and unlimited content types right away. Billing is prorated, so you only pay the difference for the time left in your current cycle.
  • Downgrades apply at your next billing date. You keep your current plan's benefits until then, and the lower price kicks in on your next renewal.

One reassuring detail: downgrading from Pro to Starter never removes your extra editors or content types. If you built three content types and added two teammates on Pro, they all keep working after you drop to Starter. You simply can't add new ones beyond the Starter limits until you upgrade again.
